Tuesday Night Team: A Lifeline for Northampton's Homeless and Rough Sleepers—Now in Need of Help

Tuesday Night Team - TNT is a charitable community action group that cares about people who have lost their home and may be a long way from it. We aim to help rough sleepers and homeless people.

Every Tuesday evening between 5.30pm -6.30pm in Northampton’s Town centre. A group of volunteers who provide, food, drink and toiletries to the homeless and vulnerable in Northampton. At TNT, - we are a non profit organisation who provide everything ourselves by fundraising and donations

For more than five years, Tuesday Night Team has been more than just a charity—it has been a lifeline. Every Tuesday, without fail, this dedicated volunteer group has brought warm meals, essential supplies, and heartfelt conversation to the homeless and vulnerable in Northampton.

It is not just about food. It is about human dignity, compassion, and connection. In a world that often looks away from those in need, Tuesday Night Team has always looked them in the eye, listened to their stories, and offered a hand without hesitation.

But now, the group that has given so much is facing an uncertain future.

A Mission Rooted in Humanity
When Laura Verlander founded Tuesday Night Team, she did so with a simple yet profound realization: the need in Northampton was overwhelming. People were sleeping on the streets, struggling to survive, longing not just for food but for kindness. So she stepped in, offering hot meals, snack bags, tents, medical aid—and perhaps most importantly, a listening ear.

“We have good banter, we have laughs, and we hope they leave with smiles,” Laura says. But beneath the lighthearted moments is a deep truth—they come for the food, but they stay for the human connection.

A Crisis That Cannot Be Ignored
Every week, around 65 people rely on Tuesday Night Team. But today, Laura and her volunteers are struggling to keep going.

Local businesses that once cooked meals have had to pull out.

Large food donations have disappeared due to policy changes.

Their sole dedicated cook—a 70-year-old woman—has been tirelessly preparing meals alone since the beginning.

The weight of this mission now rests on too few shoulders.

A Plea for Help
Tuesday Night Team doesn’t ask for much—only for compassion and support from those who can give it. Whether you’re a business willing to donate meals, an individual who can contribute supplies, or a volunteer ready to lend a hand, your help can make the difference between a hot meal and an empty stomach, between hope and despair.

Laura’s hope for the future is simple: to keep going, to keep serving, and to ensure that no one in Northampton goes without help when they need it most.      But they cannot do it alone.

Will you answer their call? Because sometimes, the smallest act of kindness can change a life.

Join Project 16:15: A Lifeline for Northampton’s Homeless
No one should have to wake up hungry and hopeless on the streets of Northampton. Yet, for many rough sleepers and vulnerable individuals, that is their daily reality. Project 16:15 refuses to accept this as “just the way things are.”

This nonprofit charity is more than just a service—it is a promise. A promise that no homeless person will go without a hot breakfast, a warm drink, and essential care. But more than that, it is a movement that believes every person—whether they have a roof over their head or not—deserves Dignity, Worth, and Value.

Unlike other initiatives, Project 16:15 goes straight to where help is needed. It is the only homeless support charity in Northampton that provides one-on-one hot meals and welfare services, meeting individuals in the very place they need assistance. There are no barriers, no waiting lists—just direct, immediate support from people who truly care.

This mission isn’t just about providing food. It’s about showing someone who feels invisible that they matter. It’s about restoring humanity in situations where despair is all too common. But none of this happens without people like you. Whether you donate, volunteer, or simply spread the word, you can be the reason someone doesn’t go hungry tonight.

The streets don’t have to be the end of the story.

Stan on RTL news (Project 16:15 homeless breakfast delivery)
Stan Robertson himself was homeless for years. On Sunday mornings, Stan Robertson gets up at four o'clock to cook food for the homeless. He knows exactly what they are going through. Because he himself was homeless for years. Now he helps people who live on the street.

Stan distributes food and clothes to homeless people Every morning Stan Robertson is in Northampton, England. He has loaded his wagon full of food, which he brings the homeless. Often he also has warm clothes. He himself knows what it means to live on the street: "I lost a lot of people down the street, I lost people because of drugs, alcohol,

and violence, and this is something I can do," says the 50-year-old.

Stan himself only had a roof over his head when he was in jail again. But these times are over once and for all.
By what event Stan has got himself the curve and what his life looks like today

Every Sunday mornings between 8am -9 am in Northampton’s Town centre, Stand and his  team of volunteers  feed   the homeless community and rough sleepers  breakfast hot meals, snacks, and  they supply  donated  seasonal clothing wearables accessories.

Urgent Call to Action: Help Us Bring Hope to Those in Need

Homelessness is not just a statistic—it is a harsh reality for countless people struggling on the streets,
many of whom never imagined they’d be in this position. In the UK, the housing system is failing.
The cost of living is soaring, energy bills keep rising, and unjust evictions are
tearing people from their homes.

Vulnerable individuals—those who slip through the cracks—face impossible choices between food, shelter, and survival.

That is where Outreach Mobile Street Food Drop and other homeless charities step in.
We provide immediate relief for rough sleepers, ensuring they don’t go hungry or suffer alone.

Charities offer hot meals, snacks, seasonal clothing, sleeping accessories, and essential hygiene kits—small but critical lifeline is for those without a home, or in temporary shelter with difficulty cooking ot limitied kitchen facilities or for those living in bed and breakfast or in hotels , rough sleepers existing by sleeping in and around random streets, back alley ways, in the parks, fields etc This list in endless.

But now, we are struggling.
In the last 18 months, funding has slowed dramatically, and donations of life-saving supplies have dwindled.
Even volunteer numbers have dropped, making it harder for us to reach everyone who needs us.

We are pleading for your support.
The charities featured on this website are dedicated to providing food, care, and long-term solutions to
the homeless community, rough sleepers and other vulnerable groups of people ib need in Northampton
but we cannot do this alone.
